Tai Hing partnered with a leading high-end medical twisted wire brush manufacturer, which struggled with critical production challenges: plastic monofilaments were difficult to pick and failed to twist securely with steel wires. Attempts to resolve this by soaking the filaments only caused adhesion, crippling subsequent processing and driving down product qualification rates.
Our technical team responded immediately, visiting the customer’s site the same day to diagnose the issue. Contrary to initial assumptions, the problem stemmed not from process flaws, but from subpar monofilament quality—insufficient surface smoothness and lack of lubricity hindered efficient picking.
Instead of disrupting the customer’s existing production process, we opted for a targeted solution: custom material formula modification to infuse monofilaments with inherent smoothness. Leveraging our patented smoothness testing method (Patent No. ZL 2019 2 1188678.1), we developed three tailored monofilament samples with varying smoothness levels, all rigorously lab-tested before on-machine trials to ensure seamless compatibility.
Unlike industry peers relying on subjective "feel," we adopt a data-driven approach. Our self-developed smoothness tester converts subjective "smoothness" into precise metrics, guaranteeing consistent monofilament performance. Supported by our five-step closed-loop service—on-site assessment, original filament testing, solution design, sample screening, and on-machine optimization—the customized monofilaments delivered exceptional results.
The optimized monofilaments enabled smooth picking, secure twisting with steel wires, and eliminated the need for soaking and drying steps—boosting production efficiency and reducing waste.
